The envelope may possess an overlapping frontal opening, with or without adhesive flap. This type of opening is used, in particular for non-EEC shipments, in order to facilitate customs inspections and to enable the shipping documents to be completed during transit.

To ensure better barcode optical reading, the envelope can be made from matt PE to facilitate scanning.

The envelope can be manufactured from a thicker PE or may comprise a double envelope.

A removable adhesive, that leaves no traces of glue on the backing after opening (windows or furniture for example), may be used.

It is also possible to increase the adhesiveness of the envelope to ensure good adherence to difficult surfaces (tyres, metals and uneven surfaces for example).
